Detroit Tigers

We got some tickets from a guy in our ward so we decided to experience downtown Detroit and catch a game. This is outside the stadium. Very cool.

I know this sounds disgusting, but one of my favorite things to do at a baseball game is get a hotdog...somehow they just taste better! This is Matt's Chicago Dog...it had onions, relish, tomatos, pickle, pepper, and a hot dog! Yum!

The carousel behind me has all tigers. So ironic!

Our view of the field. Too bad the Tigers are on a losing streak...they lost this game 5 - 0. It was a fun night and gives me something to write about. :)

Visit to Arizona

Alyssa, Amber, Matt, and Melania

This past weekend we made a quick trip back to Arizona. Matt surprised me with tickets and we surprised Ginger for the blessing of the twins. Let me tell you, those sweet girls won us both over quickly! They are so precious and know exactly how to play up to people who will be willing to hold them! I got to see them a ton while I was there and they manage to look so darn needy so you pick them up and they just grin like they won a prize. Oh, how I miss them already.

The whole clan

Matt and Missy reading a book. She loves hanging out with Matt.

Geese!

Today is a cloudy and rainy day...no surprise. Anyways, I opened the blinds and this is what I saw. This family of geese was strolling past our apartment. They may look sweet and innocent, but don't let that fool you. Matt and I have taken walks around our complex and we stop to feed the ducks and geese in the pond. The geese are quite mean and hiss or chase the ducks and us! It is really quite frightening!

Port Huron

We recently went to Port Huron, which is about an hour from us. It has a large beach with nice sand pretty far out into the water. You would never know that this is just a lake since you don't see the land around it, but there are no waves like at the ocean. It was an overcast day and eventually started to rain, but it was nice while we were there. I forgot my swimsuit and since those are required at this beach (ha ha) I just went in clothes and all. These are some friends from our ward, Brian and Melissa.

Frankenmuth, Michigan

This weekend we went to Frankenmuth, which is a German town in Michigan. They have shops and restaurants that carry all things German! The store best known in town is Bronners. It is a Christmas store with all things you could possibly want for the season. It was a fun outing!

Just Starting Out

I have finally decided to start our blog so that everyone who is so far away from us will be able to see what we are doing. We have tried to take advantage of the beautiful weather while we can since we know the winter will be less than desirable! Matt is doing pediatrics this month and knows that he most certainly doesn't want to make that a life long career path. I am still trying to find a job and have decided that substituting may be my best bet.
