Playing in the snow

Christmas day we decided to go outside to build a snowman.

Matt was the chosen one to make a snow angel.

Nice one!

We have been getting snow and rain off and on lately so the snow was very hard. This is what we ended up with since the snow wouldn't pack. Poor snowman!

Christmas Day

Christmas Eve...our pajama pants from my parents.

Christmas morning was sunny and we had fresh snow. It was a beautiful day!

Matt and I both got a "family gift" for us. It looked to be about the same size and weight.

Yes, we got the exact same game! Great minds think alike.

Big December Snow!

Look at all of our snow that we got today! It started around 5am and came down hard and fast all day. The drive to work was sure a white knuckle kind of experience. Matt's car tends to slide around the snow easily so I am getting the hang of manuvering the constant slide out of turns. Nothing like learning on the spot.

I love this view of our apartment. It looks so cute with the wreath on the door...so Christmasy!

This picture shows you that the snow is at the same level as our back door. I guess we will be having a white Christmas! We are suppose to get more snow in the next few days. I still love the novelty of the snow and as long as the roads get cleared I enjoy it even more.

2nd Anniversary

This is my home-made gift to Matt. I made this book of memories of our dating days up until now so that we won't forget them later on in life.

This is what Matt got me for our anniversary...they are beautiful roses and they are still thriving!

Our Christmas tree and anniversary fun. Our anniversary was on Tuesday and that night after we were both home from work we went to one of our favorite Middle Eastern restaurants to celebrate. It is so yummy!

Time sure has flown by...it is hard to believe we have been married for 2 years already. We are so blessed to have one another. I can't imagine 2 people being more in love and happier than we are.

Birthday Fun

This picture shows how creative my mom is. My parents sent me a package for my birthday, which is coming up on the 14th. In it there was a letter telling me to open one gift a day starting on the 10th...leading up to my birthday. I should also open them up in order starting with A, spelling out my name. You get the gist, right? So, like a good daughter I have been following and enjoying each day and the next treat to come.

If this were something sent to any one of my siblings, they would have torn into every package as soon as they got them...what can I say, I am pretty obedient. I only mention this really because my mom told me today that my siblings let her know that I would have been the only one who would follow along. How well they know me!

Dance Dance Revolution

This is Matt's sister Angela. Bust a move Steimle!

We went to a movie one night while we were in Utah and Matt gave us some pre-show entertainment.

Matt has got some rhythm!

Thanksgiving Weekend

No, we are not constipated:) We drove up Little Cottonwood Canyon in Utah to see the mountains that we miss so much! It was beautiful!

We also got to see some mountain goats...they didn't want their picture taken so instead you get to see me. It was chilly, but warmer than our usual Michigan weather so it was a nice change.

Thanksgiving night we were full and happy! We got to go to Matt's aunt and uncle's house in Tremonton for dinner. We ate some delicious food! Then we went to Kaysville to another aunt and uncle's house for some tasty Lime Ricky's.

Sunday Snowfall

Matt is so excited he is dancing for joy!

See the pretty snow! I just love it all because it is such a novelty! I can just sit and stare at it coming down.

Can you see it coming down in the backround? Too bad it doesn't come in as clearly as I would like it to. It is so beautiful!

Advent Calendar

This is the advent calendar that we recently did at our ward Super Saturday. It took me quite awhile to finish it because I had some creative blocks, but I am pretty happy with the results. It is super easy to make and all you need is scrapbook supplies and a mini muffin tin. You can put candy, a scripture, or a small toy under each number.

Got Gas?

This title may make my brothers snicker, but I am kind of obsessed with the price of gas. I take notice of it daily and treat it like the stock market...but it is safer than buying stock. :)
When was the last time we saw gas prices so low? The most recent price I saw was $1.97! Wow! I am so excited...over the last couple of months gas prices have dropped by more than half. What a refreshing change.

First Snowfall

This is the view from our back patio...quite the snow fall for November!

Matt leaves for work early in the morning and I usually get up to help him get out the door. When I went outside to turn on his car we found all of this amazing snow! I am like a giddy little kid because this is my first experience of living in snow.

Even as I am doing this the snow is still coming down. Winter is here!

Day Light Savings

This morning we got to sleep an extra hour because last night we moved one hour closer to our family and friends in the west. What a nice delight to sleep an extra hour before getting up for church...it was a nice treat. Plus, it made me happy for our modern technology because we forgot to change our clocks before we went to bed and luckily our cell phones made the change without us and all is right with the world!

Halloween Night Scare

So, Matt has learned yet another new thing about his scardy cat wife! It is not my favorite thing to go to haunted houses and we will not be going ever again! I am such a baby and hate anything scary. I try sometimes to watch a scary movie for his sake, but I end up having bad dreams and really dread it. I thought I would just suck it up this year and we would go to this Haunted Forest...ooah creepy! Well, one of the "fun parts" led us into this very dark maze where I felt like I would rather die and I started to panic! We were surrounded by strangers and we couldn't find our way out, plus it was pitch black...until my fabulous husband realized my distress and pulled out his cell phone for some light. So, that wasn't the only part that bothered me, I like my personal space and some of those people who were trying to scare us invaded my space. Anyways, I made it through and am now at peace with my scary night. This was kind of funny, but at the end of our walk through the forest they took us on a hay ride to eventually end at our cars. Kind of random, but also calming for me who just about had a heart attack!

Carving Pumpkins

This was our fun Saturday night activity! Matt is a fabulous pumpkin carver! Mine is the smiley faced one and Matt's is the skull. We cooked up the seeds too and they are quite tasty.

Craig's List

I am a fan! If you know my brother-in-law Brian you know that he is a Craig's List enthusiast, and I am now on board! Matt had gotten a new touch screen cell phone, which neither of us enjoyed much and the store wouldn't take it back so we wanted to try selling it. I posted it this morning on Craig's List and within 15 minutes I had a buyer! Yeah! Plus, I have gotten 8 more emails of interest. What a wonderful invention...this Craig man! Matt better watch out, I may just start selling off all of our stuff. Ha ha!

Fall time in Michigan

For the past couple of weeks we have been experiencing the fun of fall. The leaves are so pretty but seem to fall off all too soon. The beautiful golds, reds, and oranges of the trees are such a sight to see. What a beautiful world that we live in! This morning when Matt left for the hospital at 4:30 the whole car had a layer of ice! Already! Time to get out the scrapers...what a new experience for me.

Chicago

On Friday Matt had an interview in Chicago at the hospital that the show ER is based on. We drove down Thursday night and drove home on Friday night. What a quick trip! Since we were there for such a short time we didn't get to see much, but we want to go back sometime when we can take it all in. This is the view of the Sears Tower in Chicago along with the rest of the city. The elevated train ran right past our hotel. Very cool.

We wanted to eat a yummy Chicago style pizza and this was the place that was recommended.

Matt loved the pizza as you can tell. It was probably the best pizza I have ever had other than my most recent masterpiece at home from our fun cookbook!

Cheese! We filled up on pizza before we headed back home.

Leaving Chicago as we passed through one of many toll roads. We ended up paying $10 in tolls in two days...such pricey roads!

Cider Mill

One thing that I have been looking forward to since we have moved to Michigan is going to the Apple Cider Mill. We went last year when Matt was here doing his audition so I knew it was lots of fun and gets you in the fall mood. So, Matt had the weekend off and we headed on down to Franklin Cider Mill. Us and every other person in Michigan! It was so darn crowded but it was also a very sunny and warm day so it was to be expected.
Matt is standing in front of the mill where you can see them pressing the apples and making the cider. It smells wonderful and since it was a warm day we skipped the hot cider as I had been craving and went for the slush cider. It was SO tasty and then you can't forget the hot doughnuts. This made my day! I am easily pleased when it comes to this.

I am sure that Matt will die when he knows that I posted this, but I wanted to show you what happens when you work 100 plus hours in a 5 day period! He gets a little giddy to have a whole 2 day weekend to spend with me! Yeah!

What's for dinner?

I made this fabulous and healthy pizza for dinner Friday night. Matt loved it and we have had great luck with just about everything we have had from this cookbook. It is a great source if you are looking for tasty and healthy food. Plus, an added bonus is that you don't have dozens of ingredients...which I don't do well with.
Check it out! Matt says that with the help of this cookbook I have become a great cook! What do you think that said about what we have been eating for the last two years?
